And the story begins ...
I must admit—when I first see Milo Knight, not many positive thoughts cross my mind. That says a lot, considering I am a devout person with qualities like compassion, tolerance, and kindness ingrained in my very being.
I try not to judge folks right away, but I definitely fall short of that with Mr. Knight. I think it’s just the whole situation that throws me off. Honestly, I’m at a loss for words, and all I can think is: "He can't seriously be trying to get into my pants, can he?"
Milo Knight stands so close to me that I have to take shallow breaths to avoid my chest brushing against his. I don’t think I’ve ever inhaled so shallowly in my life! His eyes seem to pierce right through me, and I can’t understand why just one look from them makes me feel so unsettled. And then there’s the whole "Doesn't he know about personal space?" thing.
His eyes are a mesmerizing dark green, with light brown flecks near the pupils. They are captivating and radiant; yet feel forbidden—like the green apple in the Garden of Eden. Yes, the apple must have been green because green suddenly feels like a forbidden color.
How did I end up in this situation when, just a few minutes ago, I was standing in front of a red brick building with big, almost turquoise windows that reflected the setting sun’s light, ready to tell the father of ten-year-old Eleanor Nunes that he... well, that he has a daughter?
